The new year has allowed us to reflect on our favourite sequin backdrop colours and finishes in our expansive range. Since Shimmerwalls was established in 2015, we have built up a collection of over 400 sequin colours and finishes.
In this article, we will run you through the 7 most popular sequin backdrop colours of 2020 (so far!)
7. Red sequin backdrop
Our red shade was nicknamed “rouge” in the early days, due to its elegant and luxurious tone. Our red sequin backdrops were featured in a number of high-profile brand displays such as in The Ivy in Chelsea Gardens. If you want your sequin backdrop display to be powerful, passionate and confident, red is a definite must!
Red is also a great colour to express the Christmas spirit of a brand or event, so pair it with green or white sequins in any pattern to draw attention in the winter months!
6. White sequin backdrop
What other colour symbolises youth and modernity better than white? At Shimmerwalls we have two slightly different shades, Pearl White and Standard White, which are perfect for adding a bit of light and contrast to your sequin backdrop.
White sequins are also used frequently to create a sense of blank space and simplicity, which is important for leading the customer’s eye around your display. Our white sequin backdrop will attract attention, but also complement your product and not steal its shine!
5. Black sequin backdrop
On the other side of the spectrum, we have black! Our high-end customers love the glossy black sequin backdrop because it evokes an emotion of mystery and luxury in their display. Shimmerwalls use a glossy finish on the black sequins which allow them to keep your mysterious theme but also sparkle and glimmer when it catches the light.
Black sequins are perfect for making your logo stand out. We would recommend using our 15mm sequins to display your logo in black, surrounded by lighter gold or silver sequins.
4. Rose gold sequin backdrop
Rose gold really made a breakthrough in popularity in recent years, and we can see why! A rose gold sequin backdrop is the perfect alternative to yellow gold if you need a slightly subtler tint with your project. The Shimmerwalls rose gold sequins have a beautiful satin finish which really attracts the attention of anyone who walks by.
Fun Fact: During our Euroshop trade show in 2018, our satin rose gold sequin backdrop had more than 5 people per hour taking selfies in front of it!
3. Silver sequin backdrop
With a silver sequin backdrop, you can never go wrong. The silver sequins are the most versatile option if you cannot decide on the perfect colour! The silver sequin backdrop will act as a mirror, mimicking the colours of your surroundings while still standing out from the crowd. Our largest displays have incorporated silver sequins!
2. Multicolour sequin backdrop
Yes! We know multicolour should probably not belong on this list, but statistically-speaking, our custom sequin backdrops are actually our most sought-after! Shimmerwalls have a specialised design team and who create custom sequin backdrops for clients who want to display an image, logo, or text on their sequin backdrop.
For detailed images, we would recommend the use of our 15mm diameter “micro sequins”, which allow your sequin backdrop to display a very high level of detail!
1. Gold sequin backdrop
And finally, the most popular colour for sequin backdrops in 2020 so far is gold! And to no surprise, as gold is the global symbol of luxury, sophistication and elegance. At Shimmerwalls we offer a full range of gold shades, as well as multiple finishes, such as: Yellow gold, dark gold, satin gold, and soft gold. This selection means you can truly pick out the perfect shade sequin background for your display or event.
