Shimmerclick or Standard: Which sequin panels do I choose?
What size? What shape sequins? What panel type? With all the choices available, it can understandably be a confusing experience, when determining which sequin panel type would be best for your specific project.
All of our clients have unique projects and technical specifications, so when in doubt it is always best to ask one of our helpful Team Members. However, this article should give you a good idea of the differences between the sequin panels we supply, and give you the confidence to choose the type that best suits your project!
Panels
There are two main types of sequin panels to choose from: Standard, and Shimmerclick.
Standard Sequin Panels measure 24.8cm x 24.8cm, and are completely solid and flat, meaning you cannot see through the panel unless it is made with a clear plastic.
These panels are typically black, or clear. They can also be painted to any Pantone colour depending on your specifications. They can be aligned together using the small extrusions and intrusions on each side of the panel.
Shimmerclick Sequin Panels measure 33.3cm x 33.3cm, and use a grid-like structure, which makes them very light, while using less plastic. The grid structure means it is possible to see through the Shimmerwall to a certain extent when hanging from a Pipe and Drape system, and populated with circular sequins. With square sequins it is more difficult to see through the Shimmerwall.
Shimmerclick panels have a built-in "clicking system" which makes installing the product highly convenient. Furthermore, they are the most cost-effective option due to less materials required per square meter.
Comparison
Typically, most customers prefer to use Shimmerclick panels for their projects, due to their more cost-effective and convenient design. They also have more innovative characteristics compared to the Standard panels such as the unique "clicking system".

Micro sequins are the best option for shimmerwalls that require highly detailed designs or graphics, for example an image, text, or brand logo. They provide 4-times the resolution of the "standard" styles.
Standard circle and square sequins are the best option for shimmerwalls which have very basic designs or use a single colour. It is difficult to create text or logos with them due to their size, however basic shapes and patterns work brilliantly.

With a wide range of 40+ colours and finishes it is possible to create highly detailed and intricate designs accurately.
